Step 1To start off with we will need to make the shapes for our chains and this
gradient so
download it here. Put white as your foreground color and pick the type tool

with a font of Arial and make the font size 50pt and type in a 0 then on a new layer type in lowercase L.
Step 2Rasterize each type layer by going to
Layer >> Rasterize >> Type for both type layers. Click on the layer with the 0 and go to
Layer >> Layer Style >> Bevel and Emboss and use the default setting and click on Gradient Overlay and use these
settings.
Step 3Hold Ctrl and then click on they layer with the lowercase L on it so you will get a marquee shape around the lowercase L. Now delete that layer and click on the channels tab by the layers tab and then create a new channel and fill the marquee in. Go to
Filter >> Blue >> Gaussian Blur and set the radius to 3, Now go to
Image >> Adjust >> levels an type in ( 121 | 1.00 | 151 ) where is says input levels.
Step 4Now click on the layers tab and create a new layer now go to
Select >> Load Selection and in the drop down box by channel click alpha1 and fill in the marquee in with white and hit Crtl+D to deselect.
Step 5Go to
Layer >> Layer Style >> Bevel and Emboss and use the default setting and click on Gradient Overlay and use these
settings. Now move the layer so it looks like the chains are interlocked like the image to your right.
Step 6Now duplicate those 2 layer 2 time each and move the layers into place like the image to your right. There you have it a nice little chain for you hi-tech designs.
