Slicing & Htmling for the Web
1Ok. I’m going to show you how to slice up you design/menu for the web my way. I use the old way with the guide lines cause in my option it’s the best. Open your work that your going to html and go to Layer >> Flatten Image to make your whole design/menu one layer.

2 Now go to View >> Show Rulers. Now put your mouse over the ruler on the top and drag down the line to where you would like it do it as many time as you need. Now same for the side ruler and as you can see in my image how I use them.

3 Now select the Square Marquee Tool
and select parts of your design/menu that you want to cut. After you have select a area of the design/menu go to Edit >> Copy, then File >> New and hit ok. Now go to Edit >> Paste, then go to File >> Save for Web. Save each area of the design as it’s own image file.

4 Now we are going to need to html it I use a program called Microsoft FrontPage. In FrontPage go to Table >> Insert >> Tables and start off with 1 row and 1 columns. Since our menu is 400 pixels in width put that as the width of your first table.

5 Now that we got the main table cover the rest just fits in to place. Now we have to make a table with 2 rows and 0 columns and change the width to 100%. Put your mouse in the top row and to go Insert >> Picture >> From File and select your image.

6 We got 4 images left and there in one row so we add 1 row and 4 columns. Put your mouse in each column and add the right image just like you did with the top one. See my image to you right where the top image does not go all the way to the end of the table that’s because of the tables lines in the bottom columns don’t worry about that. Now go to File >> Save As and save you file. Now go to your folder where you save it and type in the file name so you can view it in the web browser.

7Now you want to make Home, Support and Contact linkable. Right link on Support and a menu will appear click on hyperlink to link you support button. That’s the way I go from a psd file to a html page and there are lot more options to play with in FrontPage so take your time and have fun.
